Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Program Director to lead assigned Directions For Our Youth (DFOY) school based Afterschool/Summer Camp Programs. This pivotal role involves overseeing the strategic planning, operational management, and quality assurance of youth enrichment initiatives designed to foster growth, learning, and community engagement. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive program strategies aligned with organizational goals, ensuring engaging and educational experiences for youth participants.
- Supervise, mentor, coach, and manage assigned Program Site Directors.
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of afterschool activities and summer camps, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluations to maintain a motivated, skilled team dedicated to program excellence.
- Ensure all programs comply with relevant health regulation policies, including DOHMH (Department of Health and Mental Hygiene) standards, safeguarding participant well-being.
- Contribute to the organizations mental health and wellness initiatives
- Monitor program budgets, resources, and operational logistics to optimize efficiency and sustainability.
- Foster partnerships with community organizations, mental healthcare providers, and educational institutions to enhance program offerings and community impact.
- Maintain detailed documentation of program activities, compliance records, incident reports, and participant health information in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in managing large-scale youth programs or healthcare management settings with a focus on operational oversight.
- A Bachelor’s Degree, and in Social Work, Human Services and or Mental Health Counseling preferred
- 5 -7 years experience in developing and implementing enrichment programs with at least 5 years of supervisory experience or an MSW degree with 2 years of experience
- Strong background in medical management and healthcare management within educational or community-based environments.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant health regulation policies, including DOHMH standards and local/state health regulations applicable to youth programs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans, manage budgets, and lead diverse teams toward shared goals.
- Familiarity with management best practices in educational or healthcare settings combined with excellent organizational skills.
- Prior experience working within regulated environments requiring compliance with mental health standards and safety protocols.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish preferred) is a plus, but not required.
