Job Summary
The Assistant Extruder Operator/Material Handler is Responsible to for assisting the CV2 Operator with all aspects of running the CV2 line. Overall, helping the CV2 operator keep the line running to increase line speeds and production output while maintaining a quality product. If the line is not running or assistance is not needed, the Assistant CV2 Operator will be a Material Handler for other production lines. The position always requires the individual to be safe-conscious and comply with all environmental health and safety (E.H.S) procedures. Successful candidates must be able to follow company policies and procedures, be able to communicate and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Duties
- Supply CV2 line with all materials needed for operation of the line.
- Remove all finished products and place them in appropriate locations.
- Operate standup forklift, sit-down forklift, and walk behind Big Joe in a safe manner.
- Assist CV2 operator with all operations of the line. (Change Overs, Reel Changes, Start Ups, Monitor and Shovel Pellets, Scrap/Skid Removal, Clean up, Etc.)
- Become proficient enough to be able to run the machine to cover CV2 operator’s lunch and break times.
- Material handler duties for other production lines.
- Maintain company policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality
- Load and Unload trucks as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret routine instructions
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Organized with the ability to problem solve in an industrial environment
- Ability to operate material movement and packaging equipment
- Ability to communicate and work with coworkers to achieve common production goals
