Job Overview
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for a bright and active young lady who is kind and caring with disabilities. She utilizes the following DME: wheelchair (I require assistance with transfers in and out of) there is lifting required. She likes a variety of activities including; listening to music, watching television, reading books, swimming, and using the computer and enjoys going out and doing activities in the community. You will provide compassionate care and support in various settings, including home and in the community. Your dedication will help empower individuals to achieve their personal goals and foster independence.
Schedule - Afternoons, weekends the family is flexible.
Pay rate varies- Com hab worker - $30 an hour- 22 hours a week in her budget, but DSP must take her out into the community and work on goals. She also has respite in her budget for $20 an hour up to 11 hours a week. There is mileage reimburstment and paid training. The family also has dogs and DSP must not be afraid of dogs.
Responsibilities
- Assist individual with daily living activities, community activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of the individual.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to the indivdual needs and preferences.
- Support the indivdual in engaging with their community through social activities and outings
- Monitor and document indivduals progress on goals (daily documentation)
- You will need to apply through an agency once the family decides to hire and pass a back ground check.

- Independent living skills - grocery shopping, cooking, personal care tasks

Seeking a DSP who is reliable, enthusiastic, creative, and active. Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. Please respond with resume or summary of experience.
