Forklift Operator – Lumber Mill
Location: Fort Smith, AR
Pay: $13.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Job Summary
Direct Staffing is hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for a busy lumber mill in Fort Smith, AR. This position involves safely moving lumber throughout the yard and production areas, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are transported efficiently. We are looking for dependable candidates with previous forklift experience who can work safely in an outdoor industrial environment.
Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move lumber throughout the lumber yard and production areas.
• Load and unload lumber onto delivery trucks.
• Transport finished products to designated storage and shipping locations.
• Secure loads and handle materials carefully to prevent damage.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report any mechanical issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Assist with other yard and warehouse duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience is required.
• Experience moving long or oversized materials is preferred.
• Lumber yard, sawmill, warehouse, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Reliable transportation and excellent attendance are required.
• Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.

• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Pay

• $13.00 per hour
