Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to train alongside a highly experienced mechanic who is preparing for retirement. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to learn and retain 40 years of hands-on knowledge specific to the facility, equipment, and maintenance processes.
The most important requirement for this position is proven experience sharpening industrial shears. The candidate must be able to properly sharpen shears so they maintain a sharp edge for a minimum of six days of operation.
This position requires someone who is mechanically skilled, dependable, willing to learn, and capable of eventually stepping into the responsibilities currently handled by the retiring mechanic.
Responsibilities

• Sharpen and maintain industrial shears to ensure they remain sharp and operational for at least six days.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues.
• Weld and perform basic fabrication as needed.
• Service and maintain machinery and equipment.
• Use computers, tablets, and other electronic devices to log into equipment and assist with diagnostics and servicing.
• Learn equipment-specific maintenance procedures from an experienced mechanic.
• Retain and apply detailed procedures and knowledge gained during training.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance information.
• Follow all company safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of verifiable mechanical/industrial maintenance experience.
• Previous experience sharpening industrial shears is strongly required.
• Must have welding experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills.
• Comfortable using computers and electronic devices when servicing equipment.
• Ability to learn, retain, and independently perform detailed maintenance procedures.
• Solid and verifiable work history required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be dependable and have strong attendance.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen — THC is not permitted.
