What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commodity Trader position at Direct Source Ingredients?
Primary Objectives of the Position:
o Develop and lead the implementation of strategic marketing plans as to
enhance Direct Source Ingredients market share
o Oversee vendor relationships and programs with focus on growing the
overall revenue and service to DSI clients.
o Advise clients on market information and timing of purchases so each client can incorporate purchases into their individual risk management program.
o Communicates with employees, clients, and vendors in a manner that will
create support and loyalty for DSI
Major Areas of Accountability:
o Manage Direct Source Ingredients in such a manner as to grow the business in volume and profitability.
o Develop relationships with key clients and prospects in our trade area.
o Develop and maintain relationships with key ingredient vendors.
o Coordinate the use of resource people to provide services and technical advice to clients that require them.
o Resolve issues or disputes between vendors and DSI clients when needed.
o To provide updates when required for newsletters and other communications.
o Coordinate and make on site visits with clients as requested or needed
o Assists in resolving customer complaints quickly and fairly in accordance with company policies.
o Enforce the DSI company credit policy for client invoicing.
Administration
o Assists DSI clients in establishing processes to ensure proper accounting and inventory controls to maximize profitability and information flow.
o Other duties as assigned.
Marketing/Communication Areas
o Position will be responsible to help put together strategic marketing plans for DSI.
o Work with the staff to develop long and short-term goals for DSI and develop programs that will help achieve those goals.
o Investigate and coordinate opportunities to grow in non-traditional areas
o Be active in promoting industry organizations and events.
Education:
o Graduated 4 year college degree Agriculture / Business related
o Farm / Agriculture / livestock background beneficial.
o Experience may be substituted for education
Experience
o 3 to 5 years of Trading / Merchandising experience
o Previous experience in multi-tasking various projects
o Financial, analytical, and technical skills required.
o Must work well in team environment.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary
o Computer skills required
Other
o Must attend all training sessions required by law
o Must comply with all safety regulations and policies of the company
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75, $110,000.00 per year
