What are the responsibilities and job description for the Homemaker Aide position at Direct Services Corportation?
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides companionship for the client. This includes accompanying client on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, assistance with hobbies, etc.
- Assists with meals and snacks according to instructions (no cooking required). May shop for groceries.
- Performs homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms.
- The completion of monthly Homemaker Aide Service Forms
- Attend training programs as recommended by the Area Agency on Aging
Require Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow detailed instructions without supervision.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Highly responsible and reliable
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- Use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift approximately 60 pounds
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to climb stairs regularly.
