Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled ISP Fiber Tech to join our dynamic telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems and network infrastructure in outdoor environments. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of fiber optic networks, supporting high-speed internet services and telecommunications systems for residential and commercial customers. Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and test fiber optic cables and systems in accordance with industry standards and safety protocols.
• Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and other construction machinery safely during outdoor work projects.
• Use diagnostic tools and telecommunications testing equipment to identify issues within fiber optic networks and troubleshoot technical problems effectively.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering schematics to guide installation and maintenance activities.
• Perform telecommunications outside plant operations, including cable pulling, routing, and securing fiber optic cables in various environments.
• Conduct telecommunications network cable installation, splicing, and testing to ensure optimal performance of fiber optic networks.
• Adhere strictly to the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and other safety standards during all field operations.
• Climb utility poles or structures as needed for installation or maintenance tasks while following proper climbing techniques and safety procedures.
• Support IT infrastructure projects by integrating fiber optic systems with LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, telephony systems, and low voltage electrical components.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and network diagrams to facilitate accurate installation and troubleshooting of complex telecommunication systems.

Experience

• Proven experience in field service roles within telecommunications or related construction environments.
• Hands-on outdoor work experience involving fiber optic cables, telecommunications outside plant operations, or similar infrastructure projects.
• Skilled in operating heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and climbing safely on utility poles or structures.
• Familiarity with telecommunications testing equipment, fiber splicing techniques, and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting network issues.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), low voltage electrical systems, and electrical safety practices.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, engineering plans, and cabling diagrams accurately.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills supporting fiber optic network maintenance and repairs.
• Construction experience related to telecommunication infrastructure or similar outdoor projects is highly desirable.
