Duties
- Process payroll using CYMA payroll software and ensuring timely and accurate payments. Also be proficient with Excel.
- Perform data entry related to payroll transactions, employee hours, benefits, and tax information with precision.
- Reconcile accounts related to payroll, benefits administration, and general ledger entries to ensure accuracy across financial records.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses and employee reimbursements.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing tax filings and ensuring proper deductions.
- Support HRIS systems integration for payroll processing and employee data management.
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with non-profit or governmental accounting procedures as needed, including journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Collaborate with the human resources team on benefits administration, leave management, and employee record updates.
- Perform account reconciliation activities including general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits adjustments, and month-end closing procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with CYMA payroll management software and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll processing, taxes, benefits administration, and governmental accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing skills preferred).
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is advantageous but not required.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes and account reconciliation procedures.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills; capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
