About the role
We’re hiring two on-call wheelchair van drivers who will be positioned in the Portland metro area to support time-sensitive discharge requests and other on-demand medical transportation needs.
This is not a typical “set schedule” driving job. When dispatch calls, you must be able to get into a vehicle and roll. Trips may include long-distance transports, long days, and late-night returns depending on discharge timing.
What you’ll do
- Respond to on-call dispatch requests, primarily for Portland-area discharges
- Safely transport passengers in a wheelchair-accessible vehicle
- Perform proper wheelchair securement and passenger assistance as required
- Communicate clearly with dispatch and follow trip instructions
- Maintain safe, professional service and complete required documentation
What we’re looking for
- Reliable, professional driver who can truly be on-call and responsive
- Drivers must be available to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
- Comfortable with long-distance driving and extended shifts
- Must be at least 25 years old.
- Able to work occasional late nights (discharges don’t always happen 9–5)
- Strong customer service and calm demeanor under pressure
- Clean driving record and ability to pass required background/drug screening (as applicable)
- Prior NEMT / wheelchair securement experience preferred (we can train the right person)
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $34,000.00 per year
