Overview

Primary Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for preparing estimates for Lumber and Exterior Trim Projects. Must be able to communicate effectively with Outside Sales Representatives, Inside Sales, Estimating Team Lead, and Centralized Estimating Coordinator to gather all the necessary information to bid projects accurately. Must effectively read and understand a set of Architectural and Structural drawings, ensuring an accurate takeoff of products needed to complete the project. Strong product knowledge will be necessary to effectively answer and fulfill all the Sales Teams Requests.

 

Essential Functions:

·         Receive emails and phone calls from Centralized Estimating System and                 Sales team takeoff for lumber and siding. 

·         Create and deliver takeoffs back to the requestor in a timely fashion using               Planswift takeoff software.

·         Convert takeoff into Xcel Spreadsheets for Inside Sales to input into                         Bistrack  software.

·         Read and understand architectural and structural plans.

·         Read and understand details/specifications in plan sets.

·         Read and understand measurements and scales.

·         Working knowledge and understanding of IRC/IBC code requirements.

·         Understand local municipality code requirements. 

·         Become proficient in all software:

o   Pro Estimating, Planswift, MS Office Suite, Bistrack.

·         Lumber & Exterior Trim experience is preferred. 

·         Other duties assigned, as necessary.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Excel software; Planswift; and Bistrack Order processing systems.
