Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for Mortgage Loan Officers. In this position, you will manage a pipeline of residential loan applications from initial contact through closing, ensuring an efficient and compliant process. You will consult with prospective borrowers to understand their financial goals, collect and review required documentation, and present suitable mortgage products. Daily responsibilities include pre-qualifying borrowers, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, resolving conditions, and monitoring loan status. You will maintain timely communication with clients, real estate partners, and internal stakeholders, while adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies. The role also involves generating new business through outbound outreach, networking, and follow-up with existing leads.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer or in a similar lending-focused role, with a strong understanding of loan origination practices.
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage lending products, including conventional, FHA, VA, and other common loan programs.
- Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and documentation requirements, with the ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and support clients throughout the loan process.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS), CRM tools, and standard office software.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple files and deadlines in a remote environment.
- Solid quantitative and analytical skills, including comfort reviewing income, credit reports, and financial documentation.
- Active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license as required by applicable state and federal regulations, or willingness to obtain where needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving production goals while maintaining compliance and high standards of ethical conduct.
