Sanitation Technician

Work Schedule:

6:00am - 2:30pm

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sanitation Technician to support sanitation operations within our contract manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety regulations, and company sanitation standards. The Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in preventing contamination and supporting efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of manufacturing equipment, production lines, work areas, and facility common areas according to established sanitation schedules.
  • Follow approved sanitation procedures using proper cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and sanitation tools.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety regulations (FDA/USDA where applicable), and internal sanitation standards.
  • Accurately document sanitation activities in logs, checklists, and required reports.
  • Identify and report sanitation concerns, equipment issues, or contamination risks to supervisors immediately.
  • Assist with facility readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Dispose of waste materials according to facility procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Follow all workplace safety guidelines and participate in required safety training.
  • Support production and quality teams as needed to maintain overall plant cleanliness and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous sanitation experience in manufacturing, food production, or contract manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of sanitation chemicals, cleaning methods, and safety procedures
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and sanitation protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and cleanliness
  • Physical ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual cleaning tasks
  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments typical of manufacturing facilities
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime if needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work around sanitation chemicals and cleaning agents
  • Ability to work in wet or temperature-controlled environments

Equipment & Areas for Sanitation

All equipment must be powered off, unplugged, or air supply disconnected prior to sanitation activities.

Sanitation responsibilities may include cleaning and sanitizing the following:

  • Mixing tanks, holding tanks, and blending vessels
  • Piston fillers and volumetric filling equipment
  • Steel and plastic drums
  • IBC totes (intermediate bulk containers)
  • Buckets and pails
  • Utensils such as scoops, paddles, ladles, and scrapers
  • Pipes, hoses, and transfer lines
  • Conveyor belts and production lines
  • Mixers and agitators
  • Weighing scales and platform scales
  • Funnels and transfer tools
  • Portable carts and dollies
  • Stainless steel processing tables and work surfaces
  • Filling heads, nozzles, and dispensing tips
  • Sealing machines where food-contact surfaces are present
  • Measuring containers and graduated cylinders
  • Filters and strainers
  • Containers used for raw materials and finished goods
  • Packaging line contact surfaces including guards, chutes, and hoppers

Pay: $17.87 per hour
