Job Summary
The Prepress Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring all digital files, proofs, and plates are accurate and print-ready prior to press production. Working within a commercial printing environment, this role acts as a critical checkpoint between prepress and press operations, reviewing layouts, color, registration, and file setup to ensure all materials meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.

- Working in Adobe Acrobat checking files and make sure we are meeting job expectations.
- Approve or flag jobs for correction before plating or sending to press.
- Inspect digital proofs, impositions, and plates for proper pagination, registration, bleeds, and trapping.
- Output plates for the press
- Confirm color accuracy and consistency using calibrated proofing systems and color management tools.
- Communicate directly with prepress operators, CSR staff, and pressroom personnel to resolve discrepancies or prevent print defects.
- Support calibration and maintenance of proofing devices and plate setters.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods while inspecting proofs and plates.

Compensation:
The base compensation range for this full-time position is $24.00 - $27.00 per hour plus benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)). Compensation ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced commercial printing facility with exposure to pressroom activity, moderate noise, and production equipment.
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work to meet production schedules.
Salary : $24 - $27
