Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical plant and ensuring a safe, clean, and functional work environment in a large-scale nutraceutical manufacturing facility. This role involves a variety of tasks, including general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance, with a specific focus on supporting manufacturing and warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Support:
- Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, including painting systems, HVAC units, drywall partitions, and other essential components.
- Ensure the proper functioning of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Support warehouse operations by maintaining racking systems, dock doors, dock plates, and air compressors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for all facility systems and equipment, including those specific to nutraceutical manufacturing.
- Conduct regular inspections and identify and address potential problems before they occur.
- Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, including those related to manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
- Energy Efficiency: Monitor energy consumption and implement measures to improve energy efficiency in the manufacturing and warehouse facilities.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies, such as equipment breakdowns, power outages, or leaks, in a timely and effective manner.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized services as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with a focus on industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HVAC certification
- Plumbing license
- Electrical license
- Experience with building automation systems
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, often up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in noisy environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
