Location: Chicago, IL
Direct counsel is seeking a Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Associate Attorney or Counsel with a minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial foreclosure, real estate litigation, and creditors’ rights to join a leading full-service law firm. The attorney will focus on commercial foreclosure and commercial real estate litigation matters for government-sponsored enterprises, special servicers, banks, and CLOs.
Responsibilities

Advise clients on commercial foreclosures, commercial real estate litigation, and creditor rights matters across all property types (hospitality, multifamily, retail, office, industrial).

Manage all aspects of the commercial foreclosure process, including title review, drafting notices of default, pre-negotiation letters, foreclosure complaints, receivership motions, sale confirmation documentation, and summary judgment motions.

Litigate disputed foreclosure actions, including court appearances, oral argument, and discovery.

Handle commercial real estate receivership, lien priority, and fraudulent transfer litigation in federal and state courts.

Draft forbearances and loan modifications.

Familiarity with or interest in commercial bankruptcy and single-asset real estate cases is preferred.
Salary Range
-
Associate Attorney: $235,000 – $345,000

Counsel: $175,000 – $210,000

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of law firm experience.

Minimum 2 years of relevant commercial foreclosure experience.

Strong analytical skills, creative thinking, and excellent written communication.

Highly organized with ability to prioritize multiple matters effectively.

Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
