Direct counsel is seeking a Pensions, Benefits and Executive Compensation Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of legal experience to join a national law firm’s nationally recognized employee benefits and executive compensation practice. This role offers the opportunity to advise sophisticated clients on complex ERISA, employee benefits, and executive compensation matters while gaining meaningful client contact and professional development.
Responsibilities

Advise clients on employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including plan design, compliance, fiduciary governance, IRS/DOL/PBGC issues, corrections, and risk mitigation.

Draft, review, and negotiate plan documents, equity plans, award agreements, employment and severance arrangements, and related disclosures.

Provide strategic counseling on benefits and compensation issues in corporate transactions, including due diligence and post-closing integration.

Conduct legal research and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical client guidance.

Contribute to internal knowledge development and thought leadership initiatives.
Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience advising on employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including qualified plans, health and welfare plans, equity compensation, and nonqualified arrangements.

Prior law firm experience required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into actionable advice.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Admission to, and good standing with, the Missouri Bar.
