Life Sciences Licensing Associate Attorney – Mandarin Fluency
Direct Counsel is seeking a Life Sciences Licensing Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm.
Locations: Boston, Massachusetts; New York, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Washington, D.C.
Position OverviewThe attorney will join the firm's Life Sciences group and focus on intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and technology transactions. Fluency in Mandarin is required, and experience working in Asia is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities- Advise life sciences clients on intellectual property licensing and technology transactions
- Handle technology transfer matters and related agreements
- Draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses
- Draft and negotiate joint development, collaboration, and strategic alliance agreements
- Draft and negotiate technology licenses and services agreements, including software-as-a-service agreements
- Draft and negotiate distribution agreements
- Conduct intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions
- Provide IP support for corporate transactions in the life sciences sector
- Work collaboratively on transactions while independently managing substantial components of matters
- 3-5 years of experience in intellectual property licensing, technology transactions, or a related practice
- Fluency in Mandarin required
- Experience working in Asia strongly preferred
- Experience with intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and other technology transactions
- Experience providing IP support and conducting IP and technology transaction due diligence in the life sciences sector
- Experience drafting and negotiating IP licenses, joint development agreements, collaboration agreements, strategic alliance agreements, technology licenses, services agreements, and/or distribution agreements
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently manage substantial components of transactions
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Comparable law firm experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly
$260,000–$365,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
