Direct Counsel is seeking a Leasing Associate to join a leading law firm’s growing Real Estate practice in Garden City, NY. This role focuses on sophisticated commercial leasing matters and offers the opportunity to work within a nationally recognized, collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate commercial leases (retail and office focus)
- Advise clients on leasing strategies and risk allocation
- Support lease-related disputes, including landlord-tenant and construction matters
- Collaborate across teams on leasing, litigation, and bankruptcy matters
- Manage multiple transactions and meet tight deadlines
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of commercial leasing experience at a law firm
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and client-service skills
- Experience with retail and office leasing (industrial a plus)
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Strong academic credentials
- New York Bar admission required
