About the Role
Direct Counsel is partnering with a leading Am Law firm to identify an entry- to junior-level associate for its Investment Services team. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary practice advising clients on investment management and securities regulatory matters. Associates in this group work closely with senior attorneys and are given early responsibility, including direct client interaction and involvement in business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with regulatory and compliance matters related to investment management and securities law
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, filings, and client communications
- Support client advisory work on fund formation, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with team members on transactional and regulatory projects
- Participate in client-facing activities and business development efforts
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in investment management, securities regulation, or related field preferred
- Coursework or demonstrated interest in investment management or securities law
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admitted to or eligible for admission in Illinois, Washington, DC, or Florida
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a competitive base salary of $225,000, along with a discretionary bonus program. Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule with approximately three days in-office and two days remote
