International Trade Associate

Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking an International Trade Associate with 2–4 years of post-JD experience to join its sophisticated International Trade practice in Washington, DC.

The ideal candidate will have experience advising clients on U.S. international trade regulations, trade remedies, sanctions, and export controls.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on a broad range of U.S. international trade regulatory matters.
• Handle matters involving trade remedy laws, particularly antidumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD).
• Represent clients in proceedings before U.S. trade agencies and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
• Counsel clients regarding economic sanctions administered by OFAC.
• Advise on export controls under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and regulations administered by BIS.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic, practical advice on complex regulatory issues.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of post-JD experience in international trade law.
• Experience with AD/CVD and trade remedy matters strongly preferred.
• Experience with sanctions and export controls, including OFAC and EAR/BIS regulations.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission and membership in good standing in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, sophisticated legal environment.
