Direct Counsel is seeking an Employment & Labor Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join a sophisticated employment practice in New York. This role offers a mix of employment litigation and day-to-day counseling within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day employment and HR counseling to clients.

Draft and review employment agreements, employee handbooks, policies, and severance agreements.

Handle employment litigation matters, including:

Single-plaintiff disputes

Executive compensation matters
-
Wage and hour class actions
-
Administrative agency charges
-

Take and defend depositions and manage written discovery.

Advise clients on sensitive personnel issues and policy implementation.

Support traditional labor matters, including NLRB-related issues.

Assist in developing litigation strategy and client-facing solutions.
Qualifications

3–5 years of employment litigation and counseling experience.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.

Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to manage complex matters and prioritize competing deadlines.

Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.

Must be licensed and in good standing in New York.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $235,000 – $365,000, depending on experience and title level. A competitive benefits package and discretionary bonus opportunities are also offered.
