Direct Counsel represents a prestigious law firm seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned litigator interested in working with innovative clients across emerging, regulated, and fast-paced industries while handling sophisticated and complex commercial litigation matters.
The ideal candidate will have significant litigation experience, strong courtroom and case management skills, and the ability to independently manage complex matters from inception through resolution. Candidates with first-chair trial experience, appellate experience, and exposure to tort litigation are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Manage complex commercial litigation matters through all phases of litigation
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research, factual analysis, and case strategy development
- Handle depositions, mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide strategic legal counsel
- Supervise and coordinate teams of attorneys and litigation support staff
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop effective litigation strategies
- Manage case deadlines, discovery processes, and litigation workflows
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 8 years of commercial litigation experience
- First-chair trial experience and/or appellate experience strongly preferred
- Experience with tort litigation matters preferred
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong academic credentials required
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
