Direct Counsel represents a prestigious AmLaw firm seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Litigation Practice Group in Nashville, Tennessee. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level associate with 3–4 years of commercial litigation experience who is looking to take on significant responsibility in complex dispute matters and contribute to a growing national litigation platform.
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Responsibilities:
- Handle all phases of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses
- Manage case work-up, including fact development and legal research
- Take and defend depositions and participate in witness preparation
- Assist with settlement negotiations, mediations, and pre-trial strategy
- Prepare pre-trial filings, injunctions, and court submissions
- Attend court appearances and assist with trial preparation and execution
- Collaborate with partners and team members on complex litigation strategy
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active Tennessee Bar admission required
- 3–4 years of commercial litigation experience
- Strong experience managing core litigation tasks including discovery, motions, and depositions
- Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong academic credentials
- Prior clerkship experience is a plus
- Ability to manage complex subject matter efficiently in a fast-paced environment
