Administrative Support Specialist – Licensing & Compliance (Program Specialist I)
Hybrid | Short-Term Assignment
Direct Counsel is seeking a Program Specialist I for a short-term, hybrid assignment with a well-established public sector organization in San Francisco. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented administrative professional looking to contribute to a high-volume, process-driven environment.
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week, plus first and last day)
Assignment Duration: May 6, 2026 – June 26, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Support annual licensee renewal processes and suspension workflows
- Process both scanned and physical mail, including data entry for returned mail
- Generate notices in response to incoming correspondence and update internal systems with detailed notes
- Maintain accurate and organized records
- Review and respond to system-based inquiries, closing cases as appropriate
Qualifications
- Prior experience in an office setting performing clerical or administrative duties preferred
- 2 years of data entry and clerical experience preferred
- 1 year of customer service experience preferred
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and ability to quickly learn new processes and procedures
- Proficiency with modern office technology, including computer systems and web-based applications
- Clear and professional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to handle inquiries effectively and maintain confidentiality
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must not be current or former members of CalPERS
