Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and repositioning
- Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and therapeutic exercises to promote mental well-being
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the care environment through regular cleaning routines
- Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, and behavioral management techniques
- Hands-on experience assisting individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Familiarity with safe patient lifting practices, manual handling procedures, and the operation of mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams in home or community care settings
- Experience in medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures including CPR and first aid certifications
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety standards for both residents and staff
