What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Direct Access MD?
We are a small, patient-centered family practice seeking a reliable and friendly medical receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the provider and staff to deliver personalized care to patients while helping maintain a welcoming and efficient office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and provide a friendly, professional first point of contact
- Check patients in and out, verify personal and insurance information
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health systems
- Collect co-pays, process payments, and provide receipts
- Handle insurance verification and basic billing questions
- Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with privacy regulations
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and patient-friendly
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification in medical administration is a plus)
- Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred
- Basic computer proficiency (scheduling software, billing systems, Microsoft Office)

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
