Responsibilities
Depending on position and experience, responsibilities may include:
- Layout and setup for commercial concrete projects
- Building and setting forms for slabs, footings, foundations, sidewalks, curbs, walls, and other concrete work
- Reading construction plans, drawings, and measurements
- Installing rebar, wire mesh, and other reinforcement
- Placing, screeding, floating, edging, and finishing concrete
- Operating concrete saws, power trowels, vibrators, and other construction equipment
- Directing and working alongside concrete crews
- Maintaining a clean and safe jobsite
- Completing work according to project plans, specifications, and schedules
Qualifications
- Previous commercial concrete construction experience preferred
- Foremen must have experience leading crews and completing concrete projects from layout through final placement
- Form carpenters should have experience building and setting concrete forms
- Finishers must have experience finishing slabs and other concrete surfaces
- Ability to read a tape measure and use construction tools properly
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding construction work
- Reliable transportation
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- OSHA/safety knowledge is a plus
