What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Operations Manager position at Dippin' Dots Ice Cream?
The Delivery Operations Manager receives and organizes new inventory, coordinates order fulfillment, and prepares event setups for pickup and delivery at our Salt Lake City warehouse during busy summer season. Routinely loads and drives trailers to festival and fair locations throughout Utah mostly Wednesday to Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and receive weekly ice cream deliveries
- Load and unload ice cream trailers for weekly festivals and events
- Inspect food trailers/trucks, supplies, and generators regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary
- Make repairs and clean out trailers after each event
- Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to events
- Communicate with event organizers for event setups
- Track inventory levels and communicate with management on order needs for each week
- Perform server/cashier duties as needed during events
- Communicate daily with management regarding logistics and events needs
Required skills and qualifications:
- Ability to hitch and drive a pickup truck and 20 foot trailer
- Can work nights and weekends (mostly Wednesday-Saturday)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of experience in a warehouse or labor role
- Proficiency with warehouse procedures and organization
- Active Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Willingness to obtain a food handlers permit
- Ability to pass a drug test
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Degree or certificate in logistics or supply chain management
- Proficiency hitching, driving, and parking food trailers 15 feet long
- Management experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to critically think and problem solve.
- Customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment.
- Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees.
- The ability to lift to 40 lbs. multiple times per day
Rate: Fixed Salary of $4000 per month with ability to earn tips from working events
Comprehensive training program during first month
Seasonal position: 6 Month Contract - May to October
Pay: $25.00 per hour
