Position Summary
Dionne Commons Assisted Living is seeking a dependable and hardworking Housekeeper to join our team. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
This position is an important part of providing a high-quality living environment for our residents and requires someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and enjoys being part of a team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain resident rooms, common areas, hallways, dining areas, offices, and other assigned areas.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, and high-touch areas.
- Empty trash and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties according to established schedules and facility standards.
- Replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or other issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow proper infection-control, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Use cleaning products and equipment safely and according to instructions.
- Respect residents' privacy, personal belongings, and living spaces.
- Interact with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.
- Assist with other housekeeping duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, healthcare, or assisted living experience preferred, but not required.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be willing and able to work every other weekend.
- Must be able to work a day-shift schedule with some flexibility.
