Job Summary:

We are looking for a dependable and safety-conscious Fuel Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting fuel to various customer locations while adhering to all safety protocols and transportation regulations. You will ensure timely and accurate deliveries, maintain the vehicle in good working order, and provide excellent customer service while performing your duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently transport fuel to customer locations, ensuring that all deliveries are completed on time and per customer specifications.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the fuel truck to ensure the vehicle is in good working order. Report any mechanical or safety issues promptly.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including those set by the Department of Transportation (DOT), OSHA, and any company-specific policies.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure on-time delivery and minimize fuel consumption.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner. Ensure that fuel deliveries are made according to customer requirements and address any concerns promptly.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including fuel delivery logs, inventory logs, and inspection reports. Ensure accuracy in all documentation.
  • Safely load and unload fuel, ensuring all deliveries are completed without spills or other incidents.
  • In the event of an accident, spill, or other emergency, follow established emergency protocols to ensure safety and minimize damage.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and ensure that all equipment is properly stored and maintained.
  • Have an understanding of different types of fuel and the requirements for handling and delivery.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion when unloading fuel or performing vehicle maintenance.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, particularly while fueling and inspecting the vehicle.
  • Ability to climb into and out of the vehicle, as well as to access fuel storage tanks.
  • Must be able to drive long distances, including city, highway, and rural routes.
  • Ability to operate and manage fueling equipment and related tools efficiently.
  • The position primarily involves local travel to fuel delivery locations.
  • May require working in early morning, evening, or weekend hours based on customer demand and delivery schedules.
  • May be required to be on-call or respond to emergency fuel deliveries as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in commercial driving

o Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (HazMat, Tanker).

o Current DOT medical certification.

o Clean driving record.

  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations, fuel handling procedures, and safety standards for transporting hazardous materials.
  • Ability to complete accurate reports, logs, and inspection forms.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate with other drivers, operations staff, and management.

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves both indoor and outdoor work, with frequent exposure to weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain while making deliveries.
  • Exposure to engine and road noise while driving.
  • Flexible hours depending on the route schedule, may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Must wear provided safety gear including gloves, high-visibility clothing, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $33.00 per hour
