Trade Compliance Professional
Job Purpose
The Trade Compliance Professional will lead and manage export compliance programs and advise on global sanctions regulations. This role is an international compliance role but with an emphasis on adherence to U.S. and Chinese trade laws governing the export, reexport, and transfer of controlled technologies, components, and semiconductor products. The position requires strong expertise in regulatory frameworks and practical experience implementing compliance programs in a complex, multinational manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust export control and sanctions compliance programs aligned with EAR, OFAC, MOFCOM and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure commodity classification processes are accurate and documented and correct tariff requirements are communicated and adhered to.
- Prepare and manage the DoD Microelectronics Trusted Supplier process and program.
- Conduct screening and monitoring of third parties, end-users, and supply chain partners for compliance with BIS “Know Your Customer” guidance and MOFCOM’s sanctions lists.
- Oversee and ensure proper application under EAR Part 744.
- Manage the application of US Foreign Direct Product (FDP) rules and monitor MOFCOM’s extraterritorial export controls
- Deliver global training programs on EAR and MOFCOM compliance, sanctions, and export control best practices together with tariff requirements.
- Perform internal audits, monitor compliance performance, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead voluntary self-disclosure processes and manage enforcement interactions with BIS and MOFCOM.
- Draft and maintain export compliance manuals, policies, and procedures in line with evolving regulations.
- Act as subject matter expert for global teams and provide guidance on compliance issues.
- Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, International Business or related field or a qualification in Export Compliance
- Minimum 7 years in export control and sanctions compliance, preferably with experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
- Proven track record managing export programs and global sanctions compliance.
Competencies
- Deep knowledge of U.S. and China’s export control regulations, sanctions, and international regimes.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to navigate Country of Origin and classification challenges.
- Familiarity with semiconductor-specific export rules requirements.
- Experience with compliance automation tools and trade management systems.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and global compliance initiatives.
