This position provides instructional, technical, and behavioral support under the direction of the Morning Star Program Director and school administration to meet the unique needs of students.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Instructional Assistant supports the academic, social, behavioral, and emotional development of students in the Morning Star Program, ages 5-9. This position provides instructional, technical, and behavioral support under the direction of the Morning Star Program Director and school administration to meet the unique needs of students.
- Provide instructional, behavioral, and technical support to students with exceptional learning needs.
- Assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodation plans.
- Present curriculum under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Support differentiated and individualized instruction.
- Work with students individually and in small groups.
- Assist with data collection, progress monitoring, and documentation.
- Support positive behavior plans and social-emotional development
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Assist with classroom management and student supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and school policies.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, therapists, parents, and volunteers.
- Support student safety, health, and personal care when necessary.
- Utilize assistive and instructional technology as needed
- Associate's degree or higher (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of three (3) year's classroom experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting students with exceptional needs
- Proficiency in Student Information Systems (SIS) and educational technology
- Experience with IEP implementation, preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certified, preferred
- Training in behavior management or crisis intervention, preferred
- Experience with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, or related needs, preferred
- ABA, RB, or CPI training, preferred
- Active Catholic preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
- Compliance with diocesan Safe Environment policies/VIRTUS
- Successful completion of background screening
- Willingness to complete required trainings and certifications
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and make responsible judgment calls.
- Ability to work effectively with Diocesan employees, department heads, representatives of other agencies and the general public.

- Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
- Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 – 44 pounds
- Frequent use both hands and fingers (i.e. typing)
- Frequent extended periods of sitting
- Occasional periods of standing, kneeling and climbing
- Occasional ability of minimal hearing (i.e. loud noises, sirens) and routine hearing (i.e. listening to others in conversation)
- Occasional time spent working closely with others
