Kindergarten Teacher Full-time · 2026–2027 School Year · Diocese of Oakland ABOUT THE POSITION Saint Leo the Great Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, faith-filled Kindergarten Teacher to join our school community. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, committed to the spiritual and academic growth of young learners, and enthusiastic about building a nurturing, structured classroom environment rooted in Catholic values. This position offers a uniquely well-supported teaching environment: the Kindergarten Teacher will be partnered with a full-time classroom aide who brings prior teaching experience, allowing for small-group instruction, differentiated support, and a high level of individualized attention for every student. RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with California state standards and Catholic school curriculum • Foster a warm, structured classroom environment that supports the whole child —academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally • Collaborate with the classroom aide to deliver differentiated instruction and support diverse learners • Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student progress • Participate in school liturgies, events, and the broader parish community • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to regular reporting • Work collaboratively with colleagues, administration, and support staff CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS • We welcome applications from candidates who are: • Currently enrolled in a California teaching credential program • In the process of completing credential requirements • Holders of a valid California Multiple Subject or Early Childhood teaching credential • Candidates must be eligible to work with the Diocese of Oakland and be supportive of the mission and values of Catholic education.
