Human Resources Representative
The Human Resources Representative will provide and assist the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Generalist with complete and specialized administrative tasking including reviewing job applications from prospective employees, managing and overseeing records, and serve as a point of contact to field employee questions.

Human Resources Representative
The Human Resources Representative will provide and assist the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Generalist with complete and specialized administrative tasking including reviewing job applications from prospective employees, managing and overseeing records, and serve as a point of contact to field employee questions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

- Responsible for the recruiting process including posting requisition to website and Net Recruiter, screening candidates, dispositioning jobs, and managing the interview process.
- Ensure new positions are sent out to Diocesan staff and are posted in Flocknote.
- Ensure compliance with I-9 requirements / E-Verify and maintain I-9 retention information.
- Prepare and maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, and pay changes.
- Administer Time and Attendance program specifically for calculation of vacation and sick leave.
- Monitor HR weekly, monthly, and yearly calendar and ensure the calendar is updated daily.
- Promote, collaborate, and serve as a first point of contact with Sterling Wellness Solutions including but not limited to: monthly meetings, promoting challenges, scheduling screenings and reviews, and dispersing of gift cards.
- Prepare annual Priest Christmas gifts.
- Responsible for the filing and retaining of files and information.
- Collects UMR change forms for all terminations and status change.
- Schedule and prepare for Bookkeepers meetings and Christmas luncheon.
- Assist in the coordination and preparation of Staff Appreciation Lunch
- Prepares onboarding enrollment packets for new hire orientation.
- Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
- Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
- Assist with other day-to-day operations of the office including but not limited to, time clock, management and time and attendance for diocesan staff.
- Provide day to day clerical assistance to the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Assistant including preparing all outgoing communications, preparation of meetings and special events.
- Process reimbursement for medical and wellness claims for priest, retirees, and lay persons.
- Serve as a backup and support for daily functions performed by the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Generalist.
- Opening and distributing mail addressed to Human Resources to appropriate recipient.
- Mailing reimbursement checks and labeling envelopes.
- Preparing check reqs for functions including but not limited to special office events, reimbursements, and membership dues.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
Education and/or Experience:
- Highschool diploma equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree or higher education preferred or currently in progress of preferred.
- Office experience or equivalent preferred, with at least on year in human resources highly preferred
- Must be able to successfully pass Safe Environment training.
- Must be able to communicate clearly to all by phone, verbally, and in written form.
- Extensive computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office, Adobe, web-based applications.
- Ability to remain organized and plan for office events, meetings, and functions.
- Ability to work in an office environment with or without interruptions.
- Ability to sit at a desk fork prolonged period with repetitive hand motions.
- Ability to travel in one’s own vehicle within the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux
- Knowledge of Catholic Church teachings and values.
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team setting.
- Ability to work autonomously on given tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive situations and documents/ records.
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
