What are the responsibilities and job description for the St. Joseph, South Bend - 2nd Grade Teacher position at DIOCESE OF FORT WAYNE - SOUTH BEND?
For the 2026-27 school year, SJGS is seeking a second grade teacher.
Duties include:
- Designing, planning, implementing, and managing curriculum & instruction, according to the diocesan curriculum framework, Indiana state standards, and diocesan catechetical guidelines
- Assessing and monitoring student progress and communicating learning results
- Developing and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Facilitating Catholic faith formation, including preparation for Reconciliation and First
Communion - Collaborating with the partner teacher, instructional aide, and interventionists to deliver differentiated support for diverse learners
- Candidates must be able to fulfill all teaching description requirements of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and have an Indiana teaching license
