Manages the night cleaning crew 4:00 pm to midnight, Monday to Friday,
and ensures campus facilities are clean, secure and ready for school the
next day.
Responsibilities
Staff Supervision
- Directs, trains and evaluates evening custodial personnel
- Assigns daily cleaning routes, project work and special event set ups
- Implements a regular and ongoing routine cleaning schedule
- Conducts a nightly staff meeting at the start of each shift
Custodial Duties
- Conducts cleaning of designated areas not assigned to other staff
- Serves as a back-up as needed for areas assigned to other staff
- Attends to special needs related to evening activities
Quality Control
- Inspects cleaned areas regularly, and addresses shortcomings
- Ensures classrooms, hallways, gyms and restrooms meet high
sanitation and presentational standards
Building Security
- Monitors building access during the evening shift
- Conducts final security and lighting checks
Inventory and Supplies
- Monitors levels of cleaning chemicals, paper goods, and equipment, and
report needs to the Director of Facilities
Safety and Compliance
- Enforces OSHA and school safety protocols
Communication
- Reports to the Director of Facilities
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of institutional custodial experience, including at least
1-2 years in a lead role. School environment experience preferred - Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment, floor care and
chemical safety - Good communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
