The Data Entry Specialist plays a vital role in the success of the Diocese of Brownsville’s capital campaign, Love Builds Hope, which is being managed by the Love Builds Hope Foundation—the nonprofit fundraising arm of the Diocese. This position is responsible for the accurate, timely, and confidential input of donor and campaign data into the Foundation’s database. By maintaining the integrity of donor records, the Data Entry Specialist supports both administrative and fundraising teams and contributes to effective communication and stewardship throughout the campaign.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter donor pledges, gifts, contact details, and campaign responses into the database with a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain current records of parishioner information, giving history, and acknowledgment status.
- Process returned mail and update records with the most current contact information.
- Ensure confidentiality of all donor and parishioner data in line with Church guidelines and privacy policies.
- Provide general support for mailings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or some college preferred.
- 1–2 years of data entry or clerical experience, preferably in a nonprofit or church setting.
- Familiarity with donor database systems (e.g., Shelby, ParishSOFT, DonorPerfect, Raiser’s Edge, or similar platforms) is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Work Environment:
- Office-based position with standard weekday hours, 8:00 am-5:00 pm.
- Quiet, team-oriented setting within a diocesan development office.
