He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Positions employed at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church – Austin, Texas, help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways, as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

Essential Job Duties
- Staff the front office during parish office hours.
- Greet & assist office visitors (parishioners, vendors, etc...)
- Answers and screens all incoming calls. Assisting callers with general information and routing them to appropriate staff when necessary.
- Assist with sacramental requests (primarily baptism, funeral, & marriage)
- Assist with the Mass Intention schedule, requests, and stipend distribution.
- Assist in the distribution of mail and deliveries.
- Maintain an orderly & clean office & filing system.
- Assist in maintaining the parish facility calendar
- Assist in facility key distribution for meetings & events
- Manage EIM (Ethics & Integrity in Ministry) compliance for church ministries.
- Other office duties as assigned.
- Highest level of professional demeanor and work habits, including maintaining confidentiality
- Action-oriented work ethic
- Ability to lead multiple efforts at one time
- Excellent communication skills in English & Spanish, both oral and written
- Technology proficient (Microsoft Office, Parish Data System, etc.).
- Ability to occasionally work evenings & weekends
- Education and Training:
- Minimum high school graduate required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of office/administrative experience required.
- Language:
- English & Spanish language skills required.
- Catholic Requirement:
- Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Must be certified by the Diocese of Austin EIM within 90 days of employment and maintain certification throughout the employment period.
