Reports to: Principal / Office Manager
Position Summary:
The School Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for students, families, visitors, and staff. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional environment, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the efficient operation of the school office.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk & Visitor Management
Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.- Answer, screen, and direct phone calls; take accurate messages as needed.
- Manage visitor sign-in/out procedures and issue visitor badges.
- Monitor security protocols for entry into the building.
Administrative Support
- Maintain student attendance records and issue tardy/early dismissal passes.
- Distribute mail, packages, and school communications.
- Support staff with scheduling, room reservations, and general office tasks.
Communication
- Share school announcements and reminders with clarity and professionalism.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
Operational Support
- Maintain an organized, welcoming front office space.
- Provide emergency support, including contacting parents/guardians and coordinating with staff as directed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred).- Prior experience in an office, customer service, or school setting strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn school information systems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with a commitment to confidentiality.
Working Conditions:
Part-time (Tues/Thurs/Fri, during school hours). Summer hours (Tues/Wed/Thurs, 9-1)- Requires sitting, standing, and light lifting (up to 20 lbs).
- Frequent interaction with students, parents, and staff in a busy office environment.
