General Description:
The role of the Faith Formation Coordinator is to develop a pastoral-based ministry that fosters the total personal and spiritual growth of St. Michael families. This position involves implementing/overseeing faith formation programs. The candidate must be a team player with strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills. An ideal Faith Formation Coordinator will have experience in faith formation. This ministry calls for collaboration with various activities and ministries within the parish's faith formation programs.
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
1. Faith Formation Program
a. Customize and implement the family-focused faith formation programs at St. Michael.
b. ·Design program promotional materials and marketing strategy.
2. Volunteer Recruitment and Management
a. Recruit and support catechists to serve as program facilitators.
b. Maintain communication with facilitators related to program content, structure, and needs.
3. Family Engagement
a. Identify the needs of unengaged families (parishioners and non-parishioners) and create opportunities to learn and grow in their faith. Some examples include Sunday events, family fall festivals, and Vacation Bible School.
b. Market and promote family-centered programs to all via platforms (social media, bulletin boards, websites, email), and other means.
Administrative Duties
1. Generate reports as needed.
2. Maintain communication with families, i.e., newsletters, phone calls, emails, flyers, and social media.
3. Attend staff meetings.

Qualifications
1. Previous experience in faith formation is preferred.
2. Strong working knowledge of the Catholic Church and Catholic teaching
3. Strong human relations and practical communications skills.
4. Displays thoughtfulness to others, understands different viewpoints of parish members, and always uses good judgment.
5. Is emotionally and physically able to perform the duties required of the assignment.
6. Personal dress and appearance should be appropriate to the church's business and ministry.
7. Exhibits loyalty and confidentiality in all working relationships with the parishioners, the pastor, and other contacts.
8. Professional and proficient in Microsoft Office, Parish Soft (ability to be trained), and the necessary technology essential for the duties required of the assignment.
9. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize while meeting deadlines and maintaining flexibility.
10. Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.
Expected Hours
1. Days and hours will vary; however, a maximum of 10 work hours per week is expected.
2. Due to the nature of the job and its exempt status, some work will be required outside regular hours, on weekends, and on holidays to ensure the program's needs are met. Employee(s) are responsible for managing hours to an average of 10 per week over a calendar year.
