What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVER position at Dinuba Unified School District?
BUS DRIVER
DAYS AND HOURS WILL VARY.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed below.
2. Drive a school bus safely and efficiently.
3. Perform pre-trip safety inspections; report mechanical malfunctions as required.
4. Learn and apply policies and procedures related to student discipline on buses.
5. Maintain a safe discipline level among passengers.
6. Observe legal and defensive driving practices.
7. Learn and follow designated routes.
8. Maintain bus in clean and proper working condition.
9. Administer first aid.
10. Maintain routine records.
11. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
12. Communicate effectively with others.
13. Meet schedules and time lines.
14. Operate a two-way radio.
15. Plan and organize work.
16. Observe health and safety regulations.
17. Perform moderately to heavy manual activities.
18. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, the public and maintain a positive team attitude.
19. Valid first aid and CPR certificate issued by an authorized agency.
20. Valid California Class A or B driver’s license with appropriate passenger and air brake endorsements.
21. Valid School Bus Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol.
22. Valid Medical Examiners Certificate for commercial drivers.
