We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Full-Time Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Dispense medications accurately while adhering to all safety protocols and legal requirements, including HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapies, considering physiology, anatomy, and medical history.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement effective medical management plans, including pain management and immunizations.
- Prepare and compound medications with aseptic technique, ensuring sterile procedures for IV infusions and other parenteral therapies.
- Manage inventory control efficiently, including medication ordering, stock rotation, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for documentation and medication tracking.
- Assist in patient education regarding medication administration, potential side effects, and health maintenance strategies.
- Support pharmacy technician staff by overseeing workflow, providing training on pharmacy operations, and ensuring accuracy in medication dispensing.
- Participate in patient care activities such as IV insertion, medication administration, and patient care planning within acute or hospital settings.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to clinical pharmacy practice.
- Proven experience in LTC pharmacy settings or hospital environments with a focus on acute care or critical care units.
- Strong background in compounding medications and aseptic techniques for sterile preparations.
- Experience with immunizations and vaccination protocols to support public health initiatives.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessment accurately and provide comprehensive patient service.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education efforts.
- Knowledge of IV infusion procedures, medication administration protocols, and pain management strategies.
