Responsibilities (Your Dino Duties!)
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing and organizing instruments, setting up equipment (including X-ray machines, anesthetics, and impression materials), ensuring every “dino cave” is ready for patient care.
- Assist patients and providers according to NC Dental Assisting Guidelines, always following OSHA and HIPAA rules.
- Deliver WOW-level experiences for each little patient and their family—every time!
- Assist dentists and hygienists during procedures: pass instruments, maintain a comfortable and dry field, and ensure the provider has clear access.
- Polish teeth as permitted with your Coronal Polishing Certification.
- Administer N₂O according to your certification allowances.
- Help with administrative duties such as greeting families, answering calls, scheduling appointments, ordering dental supplies, managing inventory, and handling lab cases.
- Assist in facility and instrument sterilization following state and federal standards.
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by Business Leaders or doctors.
- Provide gentle, clear postoperative instructions to help families care for their child’s smile after treatment.
- Help patients with new-patient forms, consents, vitals, and capture quality X-rays per NC certification requirements.
- Support the provider and patient with all aspects of chairside care within your certification scope.
Qualifications (What Makes You a Great Fit)
- A true passion for pediatric dentistry and caring for kids
- DA II or CDA required
- Spanish speaking required
- Must be available to work evenings and some weekends (please apply only if you can accommodate these hours)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
