Overview
We are looking for a dependable and motivated Garage Door Technician to join our growing team. Experience is not required — we are willing to train the right candidate. Applicants should have basic knowledge of hand tools, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn both technical and sales aspects of the job.
In this role, you will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial garage doors and openers while providing excellent customer service. Technicians will also be responsible for identifying customer needs, recommending products or repairs, and helping generate sales opportunities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, comfortable interacting with customers, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and service.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial garage doors and openers.
- Inspect garage door systems to identify issues and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions to customers.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively while completing service calls.
- Communicate professionally with customers, provide excellent service, and help identify additional products or services that meet customer needs.
- Learn and follow company procedures, safety standards, and installation techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment, including proper care and storage of tools and materials.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete jobs efficiently and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous garage door experience is a plus, but not required — willing to train the right candidate.
- Basic knowledge and experience using hand tools and power tools safely.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.
- Comfortable recommending repairs, products, and services based on customer needs.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn installation and repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time effectively.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments, including climbing ladders and working in varying weather conditions.
