Part of Grey Spaces, the restaurant and hospitality group based in Savannah, GA, the Diner Bar, a casual fine dining choice is a new restaurant is opening in Austin, TX opening January 2022.
Located right downtown, on the ground level of the brand-new Thompson and Tommie Hotels, the restaurants have a foundation in the Port-City Southern food embraced by their sister restaurant, The Grey, in Savannah.
We are looking for special individuals who are career minded, goal oriented and hard working. Along with Chef Mashama Bailey, the team is led by our Chef de Cuisine Kristine Kittrell who is dedicated to uphold the standards at the restaurant while providing cooks with the tools they will need for long lasting and exciting careers. Position Summary
A Sever is a primary contact with guest interactions in the restaurant and within the hotel. They are also responsible for submitting guest’s menu selections and presenting these food and beverage preferences. The right person will gain menu knowledge and give recommendations from our compilation of cuisine and drink offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Private Parties (PDR)
· Set up (Tables, Utensils, Plating, Seating, Menus)
· Crowd Management
· Micros Ordering on large groups
· Toast Training (After installed)
Standards & Protocols
· Steps of Service
· Language
· Back server & Server interactions
· Ensure proper table maintenance including water service, pre-bussing, clear plates between courses, etc.
· Stay updated on all menu items, preparation, and ingredients of all dishes
· Take/serve orders and answer all guest inquiries

Deliver drinks & food to table
· Support other team members, culinary colleague, and hotel employees to ensure guest satisfaction before, during, and after service in the completion of their duties.
· Handle complaints or challenges with a positive attitude
· Ensure guests are charged correctly and accurately and receive payment in a timely fashion for all items served
· Maintain the quality and consistency of the guest experience
· Adhere to grooming and dress code standards
· Follow all restaurant and Thompson/ Tommie Hotel’s safety policies and procedures
FOH Building Cleanliness and Supply
· Alerting MGMT on any items needed
· Keeping staff on top deep clean
· Storage placement for FOH items
· Placement and upkeep
Skills & Requirements
· At least one year of related experience
· Team player with exceptional work ethic
· Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment
· Must love food and learning about food
· Food and beverage knowledge a plus
· High volume restaurant experience preferred
· An enthusiasm to learn and grow with us
· Pro-active
· Reliable, punctual, and honest
· Follow all restaurant and Thompson/ Tommie Hotel’s safety policies and procedures
· Schedule- Must be available for a flexible schedule including AM, PM and Mid Shifts, Weekends and Holidays.
