We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing and maintaining our organization's computer networks and systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise in both network and system administration, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation. This position may require occasional evening or weekend work to perform maintenance, system updates, or to support critical operational activities. Occasional travel to other company facilities, supplier sites, or test locations may also be required.

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Harden, update, and upgrade systems to eliminate vulnerabilities and enhance security.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for assigned systems and processes.
- Provide enduser support as needed, including managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain network security.
- Implement and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
- Evaluate and optimize network and system performance, recommending and implementing improvements.
- Provide technical support and training to endusers on network and system usage.
- Collaborate with IT staff to plan and implement new technologies and system upgrades.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization’s technology remains competitive.
- Maintain inventories of IT assets and systems as assigned.
- Research and recommend IT solutions to meet company and departmental needs.
- Respond promptly to emergency network or system outages as required.
- Document all support and maintenance activities.
- Lead and implement projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Network Administrator, System Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and network security practices.
- Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux server environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, HyperV).
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their integration with onpremises systems.
- Knowledge of PowerShell and scripting languages.
- Expertise in network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities.
- Solid understanding of firewall and IPS configuration and administration.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Highly organized and detailoriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- Selfmotivated and directed, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Experience working in a teamoriented, collaborative environment.
- CompTIA Server , CompTIA Network , Cisco CCNA, or equivalent certifications.
