Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and tankers. Your expertise will ensure our fleet remains operational, safe, and compliant with industry standards, supporting our continued commitment to dependable service.
Duties
- Routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, alignment, and air brake inspections to maximize vehicle lifespan and safety
- Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines and components to identify any potential problems or malfunctions
- Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as alternators, gaskets, starters, disc brakes, sensors, exhaust system, etc
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform air brake system repairs and maintenance
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues on fuel tanker trucks and tankers.
- Maintain detailed service records and complete inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- General shop maintenance.
- Keep detailed records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
Skills required:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic with dealership or industrial equipment background preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, and electrical systems
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for precise diagnostics and repairs
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safety protocols at all times
