Essential Functions: 1. Prepares food according to a plann ed menu and uniform recipes, and det ermin es if the fi nish ed product is of best quality both in flavor and appeara nce befo re it is served. 2. Assists in the preparat ion and servi ng of food to pat ro ns in a quick and pleasant manner and prepare s cafe t eria counters. 3. Operates equipment as needed. 4. Performs related dut ies as req uired including duties at special meal func t ions. 5. Assist s in the processi ng of food being delivered, invent ory control, and cashierin g. 6. Report s to the cafet eria mana ger any fault y or inferior qualit y fo od which is rec eived. 7. Assists in the daily clean up of the kit che n and service areas. 8. Supervises cu linary arts student helper s in daily lunch prepar at ion and daily closi ng and cleaning operat ions. 9 . Maintains the highest st andar ds of saf et y and cleanliness in the kitchen. 10. Reports immediately to the cafet eri a manager any problem or accident occurr ing in the kitchen or the caf et eria premises. 11. Conf ers with the caf et eria manager re garding any personnel problems. 12. M aint ain s professi onal compet ence t hrough in-serv ice educ at ion act ivi t ies provided by the Department of Educat i on, the Dist rict and/or, with prior approval, in se lf selected profe ssional growt h act ivi t ies. 13 . Performs other relat ed duties as required. |

M aint ai n positive working relat ionships with Diman teacher s, administ rat ors, staff, and ot her community members. 3. Qualification s for the Posit i on |

Educati on / Formal Training: Must be a high school graduat e or possess a GED. |

Certi fica tion / License: 1. Food Handler's Certificate 2. Serve Safe Cert ifi cat e |

Knowledge and Skills: 1. Able to perform tasks requiring an ordin ary degree of skill in the preparat ion and serving of food as well as other tasks r equir ed for the operat ion and sa nitary mai nt enan ce of a food service facility or area . 2. Basic computer skills. |
