AM Food Prep

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our food service operations.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.

Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in meal preparation.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools.

Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.

Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements to existing offerings.

Assist in catering events as needed, ensuring high-quality food presentation and service.

Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs when required.

Requirements

Previous experience in a culinary role, such as dietary aide or prep cook, is preferred.

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures.

Experience with menu planning and meal preparation techniques.

Proficient knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods.

Background in food service or restaurant environments is advantageous.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
